Wind Turbines May Boost Corn and Soybean Yield


A multi-year study led by Iowa State University found that wind turbines have a positive effect on adjacent corn and soybean crops. The presence of active wind turbines created favorable microclimates that seemed to have positive effects on crop uptake of CO2 for growth and shorter dew formation periods, which inhibited destructive mold and fungus formation.
